Учрежденный в 1976 году городом Лозанна под патронажем МОК при поддержке Европейского союза телерадиовещания и Швейцарской телерадиовещательной корпорации с целью пропаганды спорта на телевидении, международный фестиваль «Золотые кольца» присуждает призы за лучшие документальные фильмы и репортажи на телевидении. Недавно была добавлена новая категория для участия в фестивале. Это категория спортивных фоторабот. МОК представлен международным жюри, которое присуждает призы – золотые, серебряные и бронзовые кольца в каждой категории соревнований – и поощрительные премии. На фестивале, проходящем в конце каждого Олимпийского года, также присуждается приз лучшему юному репортеру.

Golden Rings international contest
Created in 1976 by the City of Lausanne under the patronage of the IOC with the support of the European Broadcasting Union and the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation with the aim of promoting sport on television, the Golden Rings international contest awards prizes to the best documentaries and reportages broadcast on television. A new category of sports snapshots has now been added. The IOC is represented by the international jury that awards the prizes - golden, silver and bronze rings in each category of the competition - and honorable mentions. This festival, which takes place every two years at the end of an Olympic year, also offers a prize for the best young reporter.
